FAQ — The Cotton Canvas

Question 1

Do I need any painting experience?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely not — and we mean that. Every event is designed for total beginners. We walk you through every step, from choosing your design to finishing touches. If you can hold a brush, you can do this.

Question 2

How long do events typically last?

Accepted Answer

Most events run 2–3 hours. We'll let you know the exact duration when you register. We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early to get settled, pick your colors, and grab a drink.

Question 3

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Something you don't mind getting a little paint on! We provide aprons, but fabric paint has a way of finding its way onto things. Comfortable clothes you love but won't cry over are the move.

Question 4

What's included in the ticket price?

Accepted Answer

Everything you need to create your piece — your choice of provided canvas (Cotton Tee, Tote Bag, Bandana, Baby Onesie, or Ball Cap, depending on the event), all paints, brushes, stencils, and step-by-step guidance from our instructor. Just bring yourself and your creativity.

Question 5

How do I reserve my spot?

Accepted Answer

Head to our Events page, find an event near you, and click 'Join Us' to register. Spots fill up fast — especially for popular items like denim jackets — so we recommend booking early.

Question 6

Can I bring a friend or group?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and please do! Events are way more fun with your people. You can register individually or reach out to us about group bookings. For larger groups (8+), check out our Private Events page for a fully customized experience.

Question 7

What's your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

We understand life happens. Cancellations made 48+ hours before the event receive a full refund or credit toward a future event. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable, but you're welcome to send a friend in your place.

Question 8

Do you offer gift cards?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Gift cards are available in any amount and make the perfect present for the creative woman in your life. Visit our Gift Cards page or reach out to us directly to purchase one.

Question 9

Will my finished piece actually look good?

Accepted Answer

Yes — and we're not just saying that. Our instructors are skilled at helping every skill level produce something they're genuinely proud of. We use stencils, step-by-step demos, and one-on-one help throughout the event. You will leave with something you want to wear.

Question 10

What kind of paint do you use?

Accepted Answer

We use high-quality, fabric-safe acrylic paints that are permanent once heat-set. Your finished piece is fully washable and built to last. We'll walk you through care instructions at the end of every event.

Question 11

Can I choose my own design?

Accepted Answer

Each event has a featured design theme, but we always encourage personal touches. Our instructors love helping you make it your own — different colors, added details, your own flair. It's your piece.

Question 12

What if I make a mistake?

Accepted Answer

Mistakes are part of the process — and honestly, sometimes they become the best part of the design. Our instructors are experts at creative problem-solving. There's no such thing as ruining it.
